Tracheal Duplication Cyst Presenting as Chest Pain

Tracheal duplication cysts (TDCs) are congenital malformations that rarely diagnosed in adulthood. The authors present a case of 43-year-old female with no known comorbidities two-year history chest and upper abdominal pain. Her previous imaging on an outpatient basis was suggestive esophageal cyst, she lost to follow-up until the current admission. She gave past surgical video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for "cyst" excision, relevant details unavailable. On examination, findings were unremarkable. Repeat cyst change dimensions. underwent right-sided elective thoracotomy excision. Intraoperatively, smooth globular mass visualized next esophagus below level carina. biopsy revealed TDC. patient had uneventful postoperative period asymptomatic after three months. TDCs pose diagnostic challenge as they can only be by histopathology. However, when is atypical, histopathology clinches diagnosis. Complete excision recommended symptomatic patients ruling out malignancy. Recurrence lesion must considered such ours. Our emphasizes consideration differential diagnosis advocates importance complete resection prevent recurrence.
